Shickshinny is a borough located in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, United States. It lies on the North Branch Susquehanna River and has a population of approximately 2,000 people. The town was founded in 1772 and was originally called Shickshinny Township until it was incorporated in 1859 as a borough. Shickshinny is part of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton metropolitan area and is located approximately 20 miles southwest of Wilkes-Barre. It is known for its small-town charm, beautiful countryside, and outdoor recreational opportunities such as hiking, fishing, and hunting.
